On 4/20 we arrive in [[Restov]]. We visit the church of [[Pharasma]] to hire a cleric to cast [https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/g/gentle-repose/ Gentle Repose] on the [[manticore]] head. It will be available the following day. We also arrange for a courier to take the head, silk, and letters to [[Oleg]], [[Mara]], and [[Akiros]] in [[Oathaven]] the next day. Dropping by the Lord-Mayor [[Ioseph Sellemius|Ioseph Sellemius's]] office, we leave a message to ask for a meeting. Then, we head to the central [[Aldori Academy]] to see who's teaching today (looking for [[Jamandi Aldori]]). [[Jamandi Aldori|Jamandi]] is in, and after some convincing, we quickly gain an audience. We give her a heads up regarding the situation at [[Varnhold]] and ask if [[Restov]] can spare some forces to hold the capital of [[Varnhold]] while we continue the search for [[Maegar Varn]] and his people. She says that she'll assemble a council of the swordlords and get back to us. [[Roland]] stays behind to inquire privately about his letter from [[Poul Orlovsky]]. We spend the night at a local inn.

The following day, on 4/21, we get the spell cast and send the courier on her way. We have an appointment with the Lord-Mayor just after lunch. He says that the last communication from [[Varnhold]] was the same invitation we got. [[Restov]] sent 2 people to follow up, but they never returned. Lately, there have been more [[centaur]] sightings along the [[Shrike River]]. Then we're asked to be on our way. We go with [[Onica Aÿresmýth|Onica]] to the [[Shrike River|Shrike]] and she casts [https://www.d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/s/scrying/ Scrying], but it fails. We head back to the inn for the evening.

Early the next morning, on 4/22, we receive an invitation to a council of the Swordlords in the afternoon. They welcome us to the town, and thank us for quelling the troll threat, letting us know that trade from [[Taldor]] has increased as a result. They are sorry to hear about [[Varnhold]], but are unwilling to commit help. They will continue to hold the [[Shrike River]] against incursions from the south. They have no opinion on our offer to hold [[Varnhold]] using [[Oathaven|Oathaven's]] forces, but [[Roland]] convinces them to send 2 BP worth of materials to help fund our efforts in the name of quelling the [[centaur]] threat.

We use the remainder of the day and all of the following day, 4/23, to sell off goods we've accumulated and use the proceeds to buy new gear.

On 4/24, we leave [[Restov]] just after lunch time, headed south again to look for the [[centaur]]s.
