As a last ditch attempt to regain their freedom, they created a device that would imprint a part of their mind over another creature, giving them an agent to use to attempt to free themselves. This device ended up in [[Lloyd Gribble|Lloyd Gribble's]] hands, who managed to activate it successfully and ceased to exist thereafter.
